Plan A Visit
You think Connexions might be for you? Plan a visit with us. We look forward to meeting you! Here are a few things we thought you might like to know to make your visit go smoothly (not like this poor kid – yikes!).

Sundays (in a nut shell)
How long does it last?
Services generally run from 10:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m. The program for the kids finishes a few minutes later to give the parents a few minutes to drink coffee and chat if they’d like.
My morning coffee
We’ve got you covered! Coffee and tea are available for everyone each week, so sleep in a few extra minutes because you don’t have to visit the local drive through coffee establishment before you come. And feel free to get up at any point in time during the service for a refill. We know sometimes one cup isn’t quite enough.
What to wear?
If you’re comfortable going to your kids’ school how you’re dressed, then you’ll be comfortable here. We tend to be rather casual, and, while you’re more than welcome to wear your “Sunday best”, just know that you may be the only one, and that’s OK with us, too.
What to bring?
Yourself, your family and your friends. You can also bring a Bible if you have one, but if you don’t you can read the words to Bible references printed on the screen, or you can use one of ours. In fact, if you don’t have one written in contemporary English, you can have it to take with you!
What’s available for my family on a Sunday morning?
Nursery/Preschool
We have a nursery for those under age 2. Our preschool program follows a Willow Creek curriculum called Promiseland, unless we decide to veer away from that to share the adult sermon topic with the kids as well. A typical lesson might include a story, a craft, a game or other physical activity and a snack (we are sensitive to allergies).
If your little ones aren’t sure about staying with us or if someone’s having a challenging morning, you are welcome to bring them into the adult service as well. For your convenience, we have a play rug, a few toys and some chairs set up in the back to help entertain them while you participate in the service.
*All of our kids programs are staffed by screened volunteers.
Kindergarten through 5th Grade
Our elementary age kids experience more of who God is through song (occasionally they join the adults for this portion of the service), stories, skits, and an occasional game or craft. Our topics often follow the topic of the pastor speaking in the service for adults to assist parents in engaging their kids in conversation about what they learned.

Teens / Adults – What’s a typical service like?
Morning Coffee
Grab a cup of coffee or tea and find a seat
Music/worship
Music expressing worship to God, contemporary music played by a band – you are invited to sing along, words appear on the screen. People are generally invited to sit or stand; some may bow their heads, clap, or raise their hands as an expression of their worship to God.
Message
A talk is generally given challenging us to think about who God is and how we can allow him to impact our lives so our life and the lives of those around us are better because of it. Generally it applies to people at all points in their spiritual journey, whether you’re just now curious about who God is and what He’s done for you, or you’ve been a Christ-follower for years. This talk could be supplemented by topic videos, movie clips to illustrate the point, and may include different speakers than just the pastor from time to time.
Offering
Yes, we said it – offering. We don’t push or pressure, but we are funded by the donations of those who are committed to supporting the mission and vision of the church. So, of course, this is for our regular attenders and partners only.
Communion
Occasionally we have a time of communion. There is no requirement to participate. Anyone who has made a commitment to be a follower of Christ is invited to participate, regardless of your church affiliation or lack thereof.
Questions?
1) You can text message Ron during the service; he will try and answer it during his talk, or…
2) After the service, guests are invited to chat with a leader from the church and learn a little more about who we are and ask any questions you may have. The KidSpace staff runs their program a little longer than the service for bigger people to allow parents an opportunity to ask a few questions or get to know someone before picking them up. Filling out a “Get Connected” card and turning that in to your host/hostess for the day or dropping it in the offering basket is also a good way to communicate if you’d like to know more about the church. (And we promise – no spam!)
What happens at Connexions throughout the week?
- Small groups
- Compassion opportunities (we call it ROCK – Reaching Out with Compassion and Kindness)
- Many of our teens participate with Young Life, an organization we partner with that has youth group types of activities in communities throughout Washtenaw county.
